It makes what I did look awful.... poor old Mr Orange and Miss Banana... scarred for life!

I reckon you'd be a dab hand, with all your sewing experience.
Just don't get over excited and start trying flat-felled seams out on the patient.

I'm thinking more along the lines of asking for a sewing kit for Christmas and sewing the Turkey up on the dining table
