Where can I as Joe Punter buy Goretex material from??

I want to make a Bivy Bag based on the Carinthia Observer but without the price tag.

If i can get hold of goretex , should the whole thing be made in it including the Base??

And finaly , If i cannot get any goretex can someone reco something else fabric wise???

Pennine Outdoor are pretty good, but they don't appear to carry GoreTex per se at the moment.

You'd probably be better off going for a non-breathable waterproof fabric for the base - dampness can transpire through breathable fabrics if they're actually in contact with the ground.
