Collins Complete Guide to British Trees: A Photographic Guide to Every Common Species by Paul Sterry (List price £14.99 but can be found cheaper).

I have had this book for a while now and find it to be a very useful guide. The book is well laid out with good clear photographs and packed full of information, with sections on winter twig and bark identification as well as grain patterns plus much more.A good book to have on the shelf but more importantly one you can easily take with you.
