Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Aghh.. we have just bought a back country canoe and plan to take it onto the loch, island hopping..any tips on camping really.. really light.. as we have to fit EVERYTHING into canoe..best food etc.. new to all this a bit worried..lol
Haven't been there since I was a nipper, but assuming it hasn't changed much...
Pack a standard bushcraft set - tarp, bivi, bag, mat, cookset, etc. Then throw it all away and replace it with headnet, insect repellent, after-bite, mosi net, more repellent, more after bite, another headnet and so on...
Can you tell what my lasting memory of the place was?
I went last year and managed to have 3 days of sun 4 days of torrential rain and accidentally ate about 1,000 bugs.. managed to escape bites..starved a bit.. but it was worth it as camping by the loch was magical.. beautiful sunsets and lovely fires..amazing hills and walks..climbed ben lomond and managed to find a gorgeous beach on one of the islands.
