Had a fun weekend at Glen Tanar with Gus1990
I learned some wild foods and Angus learned some knots.
Glen Tanar is a fantastic place with plenty to see.

Yea, it was a fantastic weekend, really want to go again...

Looks good. Interesting bed you have there Gus. I take it you had spruce boughs in there as well?

It was good Andy, The bed was heather and fern.

Nice looking bed there.
I found one similar yesterday afternoon whilst out walking on the edge of Brighton.
Now the middle was filled with wood chips, I'm thinking this is supposed to be for conservation as there are also quite a lot of wood piles here and there to attract wildlife.
Anyway I'm hoping to have a crafty one night out there soon.

Yea the bed was a success. I pegged out the frame first then filled it with stacked heather tips then finished off with a layer of ferns. It took a lot of work to make and I felt rather Ill by the time it was finished. Probably a combination of low blood sugar and lack of sleep. But anyway I slept that off in comfort! We dismantled it and spread the material around before leaving.

Also, anyone have any idea what the eggs are in the first picture? They were about half the size of a pea so I couldn't think what would be laying them.
