Funny you should mention the Chinese five-spice... I found a yellow damson tree in my area and made a very nice Sweet'nSour chutney with a star anise in each jar... A splash of sherry would most definitely have complimented the taste, and yeah, great with fatty meats... Any meats... Cheese... Veg... I'll bet the Lemon Chilli Marmalade here would go with vanilla ice cream even!Be good with a splash of sherry and some chinese 5 spice.
