Is this the stainless steel one? If so, then they're heavy but very robust. I have one and I've used in very difficult ground with roots and stones, and it comes up trumps every time. It's certainly better than the plastic Coughlan one I take when weight is more of an issue.

2 rivet jobs are not generally thought of as being up to the job for hard dry ground or any sort of makeshift axe work.

big diff in price though, depends what you want to use it for. Always got one in the car and use on longer camps for occasional rain gulleys/fire pits...and big holes for big dumpage :)

Thanks for your replies, it is a larger one, with a pick style head on the back, & a wooden handle. Afraid i have'nt a clue on how to post a link to the ebay one's.
