Anyone want to take a stab?

I thought one of the Milkcaps but now I've looked through a couple of books I'm doubting myself. Seen in a predominantly ash/beech/hazel wood.

I don't know what it is but the gills look russula, perhaps a member of that family.

After checking OLO's link I reckon he's bang on the money, good job!

Growing on the local cricket pitch, I’m almost certain they’re Field Mushrooms and good to eat. There’s no yellow staining, but I’m just checking here before I fry them.

I wish our UK pharmacies offered the same service as in France re identifying edible shrooms but maybe they do in rural areas ? That being said i recall a picking/gathering license is reqd in France which maybe goes to the pharmacists ?
