Trip Report Full Xmas dinner in the woods.

Had a great two nights in the woods last weekend, full xmas dinner on the saturday. Rained all day on the friday for setting up camp, and on sunday for breaking camp. But the godswere kind to us on the saturday,and we had beautiful bright sunshine to prepare the dinner. There had been a shoot on the farm that morning. and we found a freshly shot pheasant that the dogs had missed. A fun weekend, with great food and great company.

Looks great. We did a fully christmas feast in the woods on saturday for the Solstice.

Have very fond memories of the "trashcan turkey" we cooked in the woods a few years ago at Broadstone Warren.

Good one - we did a 3 bird roast earlier in Dec, with carrots, sprouts , pigs in blankets, roast spuds etc and rounded off with Xmas pud

Barbara and I had trash can turkey with her hiking club this Thanksgiving.

We have done trashcan turkeys in the past and they were delicious, but as there were only six of us this meet, we did a turkey crown using a trash can lid as a reflector.
