I broke my Clipper at work about a week ago and when I picked up a couple to replace it i grabbed a Mora as well.
I use a stainless Clipper everyday but i had forgot how much i liked the simple carbon Mora.
So i decided im going to retire my expensive bushcrafters for a while and go back to basic's.
Just finished a sheath for myself and looking forward to the simple life for a while.

I have been thinking lately that too much emphasis is put on obtaining the ultimate bushcraft knife and maybe it's getting in the way of people actually getting out and using their knives.

I think you are probably right here. If people want to collect knives then thats their affair. However, it is great to see knives being used. Very nice piece of work on the sheath (as usual!) :)

I also have a mora and think they are excellent! Who could grumble with a carbon blade that holds a good edge and that you can pick up for little more than 8 quid!

I reckon that as long as their used with good a knifecraft technique they should last forever....the right tools for the right job.

By the way that sheath is excellent, you are a true craftsperson! :You_Rock_

All the best....Paul

I completely agree rapidboy, far too much talk sometimes... the carbon steel mora's are absolutely excellent

can i enquie what you did to break it?

Using it as a pry bar instead of a knife

I go through a few of these each year but usually the just get sharpened away or lost.

First time i had one break.

I was giving it some serious stick at the time but not as much as i have in the past.

The stainless Frost's are usually very resistant to prying.

hi this is the good think on "plastic moras"
Use them and they´d last many years.
The best for me is when I use them to clean fish.........
It´s very easy to clean all this mess and after you put it into its plastic shealth with no worry about.
But you know there are so good looking BUSHCRAFT knives/leather shealths and we are so weak ;-).
Anyway the leather shealth you made looks BEAUTIFUL

Not of this one but it's the same combination belt / dangler loop like on this one to give 2 carry height's.

Thanks rapidboy. I really like it. How did you tie off the cord on your sheath? And if you don't mind me asking, any thoughts on putting a set up like yours for sale?

Beautiful leather work. :)

Refreshing to see a bit of common sense in the choice of tools.

My Mora and Mora 2000 get more use than my other knives (apart from the pocket ones) because they are usually lying about ( ) where I'm doing stuff.

Exellent leather work as expected, but as I am the anti-christ of Mora handles and knowing your skills, you could easily put a wooden handle on it.
For you mora buffs all it would cost is a little effort and hey presto a custom bushcrafter for less then a tenner.check out Pignuts.

I can't believe the dollar (pound) value of some products in England. I paid close to $25 dollars for my Mora Clipper and I'll never see another one in Nanaimo here. The store I bought them from had them as a special offer and they all disappeared in a matter of days. I was lucky to get the one that I did.
