Fron Lincoln to York

Hello,

I'm hoping to move to York in the Summer and wondered if:

a) there were any local meets in the area

2) any spots to wild camp (My friend mentioned a spot close to Scarborough but wondered if there were any others).

c) any good outdoor shops (Blue Moon Guns??)

Hi Dave, I’ve just joined bushcraft , nothing in York I believe.

Don't know of anything in York area but I'm based in Whitby , loads of wild spots ( usual legal limitations for wild camping in UK apply) on the North Yorkshire Coast and North Yorkshire Moors . Cleveland way runs up the coast and across the moors from Filey to Helmsley .

I had a wander around Hull, Beverley, Flamborough, Bridlington, just after Christmas; not wild camping (I had my mum, SWMBO and both kids with me); I saw lots of places that looked like they would be suitable, though, especially along the coast at this time of year.

I'm in York, but have never got anywhere secured. There is 'common land' around Strensall - I asked Defence Infrastructure Org if I could use the woods on the ranges and was pretty annoyed with their response!

I have been up towards Scarborough to teh County Scouts campsite which was brilliant - I was on a three day basic bushcraft course through the RAF, but the campsite is available and loads of woods with a stream......really must get back out there.

Oh, Blue Moon closed about a week ago.
