If that hem is weighted then it would make a beautiful jacket for you 
Much along the lines of your wool one, and enough left to make a top too.
Aren't Indian and Pakistani fabrics beautifully coloured, with such richness of design ?

My everyday wear is so drab...but Im attracted to bright colours too.
I have to be careful lest I end up looking like a Artists fight in a bird of paradise factory...
I have been attracted to saris since I was small. You see these Indian women wearing every day the like of which we would not see at a film festival!
Sadly they are not the sort of apparel that would be at all suitable for me to wear. (Having tried it once. A Sari would not last five minutes with me, even with liberal saftey pins.)
I look like a bear anyway.
