I thought I'd show a couple of pieces that I have recently made: a small chopping board and a tiny food prep knife.
The wood is a type of maple, these were offcuts from a large section of log that I acquired for bowl carving. I cheated a bit to get the board flat by using my Jack plane (not very bushcrafty I know).
The knife was made from a table knife (5p from charity shop), carefully ground to avoid overheating. This diagram shows it better.
I'm not sure about the edge holding characteristics of this steel, but I'm hoping it will be OK, it was very hard to drill through the tang for the pins.
Thanks for looking.
