It's nothing new. Mod Plod are always sniffing around the War & Peace show for things that shouldn't be on sale there. I've seen a few sets of MTP appear on ebay and forums too...

The worse part of it is: "The court heard that the equipment, taken from MoD stores at RAF St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan, should have been going to soldiers in the frontline but ended up in Peet's garage in Bridgend."
