I have a pretty knackered back, comfort is key these days, is there any metal frame folding beds that I could use for camping plus if the kids have friends over, weight isn’t a problem, comfort is!

Any advice appreciated!

+1 for Carp beds, they are definitely the way forward. Go for an 8 leg version* and extra wide, you'll feel the difference.

* More stable than the 6 leg versions.

We originally got ours from Go Outdoors but they no longer seem to do an 8 leg version.

6 legs, like the ones I used to use, have a habit of catapulting pillows when you go to sit on the other end to get your boots off. 8 legs better.

I remembered the old 'ratchet' loungers of yesteryear whereby you sat on one end and as you said, "catapulted pillows". So we tried before we bought, we also went for the XL version, much wider and less chance of you tipping the things over when you sit down before sliding your legs across. Independently adjustable legs so you can really level them off on uneven ground, definitely one of our better camping buys.
