5 a.m., snuggled up in bed, hear a strange noise, someones outside callling me. Stumble out of bed, draw the curtains, and peer outside, nothing.

Go back to bed, 5 mins later, "you whoooo", stumble back out of bed, open windows, and listen properly.

Theres some flippin cuckoo conference going on, can hear at least 3 of the buggers chatting away.

Couldntt get back to sleep, oh well, sure sign that springs on its way.

Could be a lot worse - there used to be a large flock of cockatoos where I lived in Australia. Now they're noisy buggers!

I've been having a similar issue with some Red-legged Partridges - very beautiful birds - but not particularly endearing at 0530. Thankfully they are very much edible and will, if they persist in being noisy beggars, be on the menu at Chatteau De Batfink.

I'm just back from Thailand and I stayed in a hotel that had caged birds in the garden. Now you're going to think I'm takin' the Mick but they whistled The Scorpians' Winds Of Change... seriously.
We figured some Eastern European crowd had been interfering with them. :lmao:

For the next two days we couldn't get the song out of our heads. :(

Now that really would drive me nuts... ;) I hate that song with a passion bordering on religious fervour.
