You might want to have a look at a programme on UKTV History, called "Stone Age Columbus". It is an archeaology documentary looking at evidence for early migrations to America. They are comparing styles of stone tools and the different methods of making them to connect people on either side of the Atlantic.
Interesting in its own right but it also had a demontration of someone making a "clovis point" spearhead, with some useful description of the techniques used. (If you look closely you can see the blood on the guys hands).
The show is on right now (as I type) but is repeated throughout the day - 9:00-10:00, 12:00 - 13:00, 16:00-17:00 and 20:00- 21:00.
Worth a look
