Hello...

I had a go last year, at trying to produces some linen thread by growing some flax.

i have a New Zealand flax in the garden and it produces some very strong string.

Nice photos; good stuff :)
Flax makes really good ropes too and if it's been properly combed before spinning the ropes are very good to handle and make excellent carrying straps.
