Whilst buying an Axe splitter/sledgehammer, I picked up the Fiskars billhook, X3, brush hook. Looked an interesting blade, very thin ceramic looking, and quite light for swinging.

Anyone recommend them ?

Aye, as Chiseller says, I swear by mine. It's my choice over an axe any day.
I keep the blade hair popping sharp, and it stays like that until it comes rapidly into contact with barbed wire

I've used it for hedge laying, fire craft, snedding and spoon carving to name a few. It works well as a draw knife too.

It'll chop through 4 inch diameter ash in 3 clean chops, and makes pretty patterns when chopping through 6 inch stuff.

The secret is to flick your wrist while swinging it for maximum effect.

It's my favorite tool after my hillbill knife. I just wish I hadn't seen the silky yoki....
