First Oak Kuksa

Hi all

Ordered a spoon knife last week (S. Djärv Hantverk) from the woodlore-site. Put it through its first paces by making a kuksa out of a piece of Oak. Not the best finish but I'm happy with the result, as the wood was pretty hard to carve and get right.

Nice job! I have ordered my crook knife and it arrived today But I am not allowed it till my birthday in 2 weeks as it's from my 2 year old. I have the piece of silver birch ready and I'm going to start the outside tonight!

very nice, oak is not a forgiving wood to work with, it is punishing on the hands and tools.
