It's not perfect, but it's my first go, and to say I'm chuffed with it is a major understatement! :D

It's a Lauri 95 Stainless blade from Brisa. It was sent by mistake - I ordered a carbon steel one, but it wasn't worth posting it back (the blade is €6.50). Denis sent the correct blade a couple of days later.

The handle is American black walnut (from Axminster) and the buffalo horn spacer is from Brisa too.

I'm on the rocky road now though - my wife's getting me the blades for two more knives for Christmas - the 95 carbon and a stainless fillet. :)

Yes its too late now, not a rocky road, more a slippery slope to long nights in the workshop. Lovely knife by the way.

Nice. It's great fun isn't it? I especially like the grain the handle and the fit between the bolster, the buffalo horn and the handle looks perfect. I hope my *second* turns out as nice (it's going to have a bit of buffalo horn as well).

What did you finish it with?

I used abrasive strips, bought from Axminster - 80, 180 and 320 grits, then Tung oil. I was surprised how easy it was to shape the handle using the course 80 grit tapes - I haven't used them before and they're far better than sandpaper IMO. I want to make another one now! :lmao:
