First camping trip of the year

Just a wee trip out to try out some new kit and get out and about
had a good 2 days hope you enjoy the pics

Some nice broad-leafed woodland near loch lomand was our chosen site

Squeezed inside this tree trunk to get this shot,some evidence of some kind of rodent life ,but of what i have no idea !

Colin (coln18) Trying out his new and shiny evernew ultralight DX stand with alcohol stove and pot ,cup all titanium so very light indeed He tried the DX stand with wood as well and worked a treat

Colin also tried out his hudson bay 4 point blanket and duluth bed roll ! and if you have not allready guessed he is a bit of a kit tart

And i got my honey stove dirty for the first time !!

Slept here no sleeping bag !!! well made it to 4 in the morning !!!

Spotted a tawny owl flying out of this hole stunning to see in flight !!missed the pic though!

The weather was fine Mary not cold at all .Well it was when i woke up at 4 in the morning with no sleeping bag and the fire had died down !!

its mostly an ancient oak wood, with a mix of birch and ash amongst them.
