Hi Friends, I want to show you the first all natural material wooden fire piston I made (I made it for the challenge in the USA foro) I'm like a child with a new toy with this firepiston! ...still can´t belive that it works.
here you have some pictures (is still unfinished, but just need a little of embellishment), and a little video (sorry for the video quality but I made it tonight outdoor with my cellphone and a head flashlight)
The wood is lapacho (I don´t know how is the name of "lapacho" tree in english), the cilinder and the piston are made from the same piece of wood.
The tools I used to make it was a press drill (for the hole obviously...), a knife, a small hatchet, a file and some sand paper.
For the gasket I use "fibras de cañamo", I thing you call it "hemp", is that right?
