first attempt at one
took me 15 mins with some sand paper and a penknife and a whack from the axe ! criticism wanted, could do with a bit more sanding !

may it last many more :campfire:

It's all to do with the correct kind of metal (real explanation coming from someone else soon)

Once you find a bit, keep it with the striker. Old bit hacksaw blade perhaps?

i do not understand this came on a plastic top to which i changed to stag horn the striker for it is my carbon steel knife which works wonders ! i was mainly pointing out the horn i had not the actual rod that cost a 1£ from china that did not come with the striker.

Ah. My appoogies. Without the picture I thought you were having problems lighting the fire with it :confused:

I see now. Well it looks fine. Brasso works to give a nice shine on antler if you wish.
