Yeah i'd say more like half hour myself. how long does it take to make each brick?

right i got the brick maker off amazon but you can read all about it here
http://www.downthelane.net/eco-log-maker.php

i use a wee bin half fill it with torn up newspaper and get about 5 bricks out of it after 3 days soaking (of course i could scale it up more bins etc) i get the papers for free then i dot the wet bricks around the greenhouse to dry out supposed to be a couple of months but i have found now the warmer weather is showing they are drying quick. Hope to make about 100 or so for next winter currently have about 25 so its quick work only takes a few minutes to press them

all in all seems like a good bit of kit just have to wait to see how long they burn i guess oh and they are very light to carry so could be lugged to sites where wood is scarce if they burn well

Thanks for that spritwalker sounds like a good idea to me the brick maker should pay for it self in no time at all.
Cheers

The Tesco multi pack logs are very small only about 40% the size of fire logs.

The paper log makers do work, my mom had one back in the 60's but remember the 'logs' take ages and ages to dry out.

Have tried the paper logs in our wood burner - they dont last too long, mybe 30 mins and dont burn too hot either. That said, they are a "free" alternative to logs and if you get a good stock you could probably get some reasonable heat.

Just got 3 tons of kindling of eb*y for £25 - sheffield area, from a place that makes sheds - he cant get rid of the stuff - full of offcuts of ongue and grove but also has 8" to 12" legths of 2x2 timber. If anyone is interested, I can look up their contact details - it all burns and at that price is very very cheap (and you dont have to wait for it to dry out!!!).
