The best of the best in handicraft competition held in Eastern Karelia in 1942:

1) The best "korsu" or dugout build out of logs. SA 110943.

There are furs and then there are furs. The woman in auxiliary service is wearing a combination of wool overcoat, shearling hat and wolfskin coat in Lapland on 6 February 1940. The lowest temperatures measured during the Winter War were well below -40C.
