Hello there. I have done several searches on BCUK for any posts on animal tracks and tracking in general. I cant find any. Whilst I could just go elsewhere this is my first go to resource and maybe I am missing something in terms of accessing content. Any help is welcome . thanks D x

There’s loads on here. Red and I used to host some “Cold Case” threads which involved tracking and predatory investigations. I’ve also posted loads of tracking and sign threads in the past about foxes, badgers, reptiles and loads of other animals. Try searching for those.

I figured there would be. but when I use the search bar nothing comes up x

Try the advanced search and use things like wildlife +tracking -parcel -letter. That should force the results to only posts that have both wildlife and tracking but without the words parcel or letter. I'm not sure how well it works on this forum but it usually has a positive effect.

Edit - definitely an example where if we had a 'show first post only' function to the search it would show more relevant results instead of lots of posts in the same thread.

Yeh TD. footprints, and tracking game, sign to look out for. That sort of thing. thanks x
This is free.

Not 'great' but free. As Broch is going to suggest you really want a decent book on the subject matter to take out with you.

Thinking about where you are, your camp , its location etc you want to set up a couple of 'Track Traps' - tend to be located at natural narrowing choke points ( Gateways , breaks in hedges ) and the smooth/rake the soil to a fine level quality to pick up any wee beasties traversing through.

Then again - you're in Ireland so that would probably be washed away... :(
