Finally got some birch burr's

The very helpful people at Lopham Fen cut and saved this very nice burr for me when they recently felled a large old birch. It was in one huge lump, and about 1/3 of it was rotten inside. But after a bit of butchery and clean up this was the result

I waited a long while to get these. I reckon there are 50 or 60 knife handles in it, but it will most likely be used to make cups:)

Cant beat a nice burly burr on a handle. I made a kuksa out of one too but its not the most water tight of vessels, oils and waxes have helped but hot fluids take them away so unfortunetly I have to stick to single malts :)
