I doubt it will be very bright... looks like a single tube in there.

Also, it takes 6 x D cell batteries - that's going to cost a fortune over time.

I had one many years ago, it was big heavy dull and it ate batteries .

these are fragile but very good stick em into a 12v vattery and bingo.

Although a lamp and lantern are 2 different lights.

I love lamp !
