I think the standard one is enough money for a working knife.

I have used and abused the F1 for a while now and is happy with it (expensive, yes. Worth the money, think so). If I would have to buy a new one today, I think I would go for the F1 pro because of the narrower tip and new sheat and you get the DC diamond sharpener plus a small pelicase.

I've got a standard one and the pro. The pro feels a much better knife but the prices have gone up a lot since I bought it and probably wouldn't buy it again, I haven't used the pro yet (its turned into a drawer queen for me) and am still quite happy using the standard F1. Although if you can stretch to it the A1 is an absolute beast of a knife.

I have one in G3 steel. Have other Fällknivar in other steels too. Frankly speaking I do not feel there is much difference between them.
I would go for the cheapest one.
