Extra large nålbinding needle

A friend of the wife's is teaching her nålbinding ( it auto corrected to that so I assume its right ) and on seeing the ones I've made for herself asked if I could make her one as she's had trouble getting one big enough for her huge hands so here it is, all 5 1/2 inches of boney goodness, shaped to her spec's.

None of the local pet shop bones was long enough so I had to recycle a cracked bone rubber / creaserI had laying about.

Very nice work there, well done. I made a smaller one out of a scrap of walnut but it's nothing compared to yours.

OK. Do you all think that you could manage this with some bison femur bone?
If somebody in western Canada just happened to mail you some cleaned/boiled bone,
could you "make-do?"

I know a couple of luthiers who believe it works well for nuts on guitars and banjos.

Cheers folks, being a commission of sorts I put a bit more effort into this one polishing it with spit and really fine wet and dry.

Oh aye, bison bone would be excellent. Thanks! I'd have to think of something special to make from it.
