Picked one of these up off ebay but needs a clean.

Is it ok to put it in the washing machine ?

Yes. Use pure soap on a wool cycle and drip dry. Use nikwax or similar in machine or as a spray on.

I used nickwax tecwash for mine job was a good one

I've used Grangers 30c cleaner on mine. Washed it on a delicates cycle. Also used the Grangers wash in proofer and NikWax spray-on proofer both worked well.

Run a rinse cycle or 2 through the machine first and rinse out the gunk form the detergent drawer to get rid of any trace of detergent. (detergent masks water repellent coatings)

You may well find that after washing, you can tumble dry it on a low heat to re-activate the original water repellency of the gore-tex.
