After busting the zip on the side pouch on my berghaus cyclops crusader, I searched for a replacement, With no luck, i looked on evilbay and there were loads of plce pouches. but i was told that the zips were not compatible from these pouches. We have a place local specialised canvas services i contacted them with regards to having a new zip fitted to the above pouch.
Wow, was i in for a shock they wanted £45+vat after i picked myself up from the floor
i told them i would leave it
i put up a post on here and someone told me to give kevin at Endicotts a ring .So i got the no and gave kevin a ring. he wasn't there, the guy i spoke to told me kevin would call me before the end of the day, which he did. i explained my situation and kevin gave me lots of advice and information regarding these pouches he said he had lots of pouches in stock .i told him that my pouches were in good condition and it was just the zip had gone he gave me a price to fit a zip from a plce pouch. the price was so good i also sent my other pouch aswell.
I posted them first class on tuesday and emailed kevin to let him know they were on there way .
i got a text from Kevin asking me if he could tinker with them while he had them there.
comunication from kevin and Endicotts is excellent in every way and i recieved my pouches back this morning with new zips fitted and a few little extra bits fitted aswell. to say i was impressed was a understatement .topclass service from ENDICOTTs
no connection just a very very happy customer.:D

I'm on holiday in Devon the beginning of July with a trip to Endys on the cards I may have to tell SWMBLT to confiscate my credit cards or I'm liable to pend WAAAAAAAAAY too much!

I've liased with them once over the phone and they were very good to be honest. Alot of places just aren't interested in the needs of the customer, but these guys are top class.

Sounds like they could single handedly pull this country out of its economic crisis.

Fair play to them, give the customer what they want and a price they can afford and do it with a smile. So simple, why hasn't big business thought of this.

They do. Only they approach it from the Big Business side of things. While I worked with The Big Evil Empire aka Tesco they started to roll out something they named "Future" all about how to be happy at work, dealing with customers wishes/complaints and dealing with each other in such a way they everyone will be working in a utopia. Now in theory it should work, and it can too as I've saw it work. The problem is that on large scales where they penny pinch at every turn, Management don't really follow the Utopian Rules. The general staff see managers acting the way they do and they know that in another year there will be another Big Idea and new rules etc.

I've worked in call centres where they train you to 'make the customer feel special and unique' however once the training is over I got into trouble from the very same trainer for doing what he told me to do, as it was taking too much time. We were told not to take more than 2 minutes per call.. aye very personal and special that amount of time will make someone feel.

Basically, big companies like they idea of appearing customer focused, but don't or can afford the financial cost. Would being nice and taking the extra time generate more money than they may lose due to training or time taken? Honestly probably not, as they all as bad as each other so don't really feel the need to.
