Hello all,

Recently purchased an Elwell hatchet. The handle came broken.
I'm happy to replace it, gives me a small project. However I'm struggling to find a good replacement.

Seems that the faithful FAIHA16 would work fine. Although cant find any in stock.

The eye size looks to be around 49mm X 16mm

Anyone know of any alternatives to the Faithfull.

Thanks

John

Why not try making your own? I will not repeat what I make mine out of because everytime I do, someone will tell me I am using the wrong wood, however I am sure somebody will suggest what you could use.

Richard Carter's do a range of helves and they have plenty of real estate to make a helve to suit your tastes, use, mitts etc. Flea bay always seems to have em.

Additionally Carter's is a UK company with some history, so it's nice to support em. I used to live down the road and visit on a Friday afternoon for my handles, where the MD used to entertain my pickiness for beer money prices.
