Elderflower wine phenomenon

On Saturday I picked a bag of flower heads for my second batch of wine.
I de headed the flowers that evening and ran out of time to make the must, so I put them in a plastic bag and popped them in the fridge for the night.
My intention for the next day was to spread them out for a sun bath before making the must.
Well here comes the unexplainable part for me, there always seems to be some blown dead flowers amongst them, and when I got the bag out of fridge, all the dead flowers were in the corner of the bag, as if some strange phenomenon had gone on over night, the bag was sitting flat in the fridge as well, so it wasn't as if the dead flowers sank to the bottom.
Any idea's?

Sounds like you've got an elderflower gremlin helping you out ;)
mix it all in again and put it back in the fridge and make sure it's not touching anything and see what happens
and obviously repeat test with it touching the wall of the fridge
you may have found a new method for getting the dead leaves out :D
