  • Merry Christmas Guest, we hope that you have a great day wherever you are, and we're looking forward to hearing of your adventures in the New Year!
I will get my Brika this afternoon and make pics, both from the inside with the additional valve (which is all but a sophisticated lid with axial play) and of a shot of espresso in a glas to show the amount of crema you get. Then you will rush out to buy one :D

Jason, here they are.
The inverted cup in the middle is sort of a lid with about 4mm of axial play.
When enough pressure has built up in the tank, it raises and within some seconds the steam goes through the grounds.

After pouiring it in the glas I immediately grabbed the camera for this pic.

As with every good shot, the glas was at first foam only which then transformed into liquid in the course of time.

Wow! That is amazing :yikes:

You were absolutely right, I have to have one of those, you should see the pathetic stuff that comes out of my current mocha pot, not a bubble of crema in sight. I wouldnt have believed a relatively low presure mocha pot could produce crema like that, you sure theres no fairy liquid involved ;) ??

Many thanks for taking the photos Oetzi :You_Rock_

Only fresh (=less than one week old) coffee, fresh (=immediately before the brew) grounded.
The Brika is the most basic piece of equipment to make a good coffee. if you were to make an upgrade to it, dont buy a fancy machine but:
1. grind yourself, you dont need any more than a cheap secondhand handmill http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Antike-Kaffee...608185798QQcategoryZ19358QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
2. dont store coffee for too long or roast yourself

I always grind my beans fresh in a burr grinder for each brew and where possible I try to buy freshly roasted but I dont use enough to always have fresh beans, used to have a habit but have had to cut back to the occassional cup or two ;) I keep my roasted beans in the freezer though and grind them frozen.

Gracious god, how can you live without it? Hope you acquired another adiction instead ;)
My own daily dose is 3x17gr, but I only achieve this on my days off. What I get at work can only be gulped down for medical reasons :D
Inform me about your Brika-experiences.
