He's Being very crafty using an underscore in his title. I don't know the legalities but he may be able to argue that BushcraftUK and Bushcraft_UK are not the same and not in breach of copyright, but lets hope he's wrong and big Tone can get Medieval on him !!

On this side of the pond an underscore added to the name wouldn't matter. It would still be a breach of copyright (almost the same name, working in the same field (bushcraft / survival / etc.), since when does he sell under this name? VS when was BCUK created?, maybe the fact Tony publishes the magazine (which actually happens by Bushcraft Media Ltd) that has a reference to BCUK on every single page is of some help, etc.).

I can provide a list with jurisprudence of like wise cases ... but again, it's all Dutch law that was applicable.
On the otherhand: there's nothing so unsure as in Intellectual Property Law - it really is what the judge had for breakfast ...

Though I don't know what the (...)score is in the UK - Maybe Danzo knows? :D  ;)

Anyway this legal talk ... and way off topic, sorry about that :ban:

In short: avoid this seller not only because of using BCUK's name, but also to avoid frustrations about crappy service.
(If seller reads this and wants to sue me: you're most welcome to do so Sir) :240:

Where is he based? I'm pretty sure a trademark will only matter if he is in the UK, if you could afford an international trademark you'd be rich enough to retire.

He's UK based, I think he may be Yorkshire way, I'm why I think that may have been something I read. He also claims that he runs bushcraft courses so I'm sure he would have come across BCUK before.

I must have muddled him up with someone else. When I'd bought stuff off of him his site emptied for about two weeks and then re-stocked. Who knows!

i bought off him last year, im sure he was bushcraftuk then maybe he changed it to the bushcraft_uk as NOT to be confused with this site, cant really condem the bloke as he may not know about this place.
