Dyeing Leather

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
The best way is to dampen the leather, then use a piece of felt (the kind kids use to cut shapes out of is fine) as a dauber.
Pour some dye in a dish, scrunch the felt into a ball, dip it in the dye and wipe quickly over the leather. Try and cover it in as few passes as possible. You will also find it easier if you dye the leather before assembling/sewing the item you are making, therefore dyeing it flat.
