i'm sure it's already been asked before but my search was unsuccessful....: how do you calculate the length of cord neccessary for a certain length of 3-strand plaited rope?!

Not a dumb question, I've wondered something similar when wondering about making a paracord bracelet..
I ended up doing a test bit, weaving a short length, then undoing it and measuring how much cord I had used, and then multiplying to get the desired total length (if that makes sense). So if a foot of paracord makes 3 inches of bracelet, then I need 4 times as much paracord as the intended length of my bracelet.

as nobody was able to help me out 
uppy_dog i grabbed several pieces of cord and rope today and started experimenting (amazing how bored you can get when it's pouring down...). result: 1m rope is after plaiting ca. 84 cm long---> it has to be 1.2times longer then what you want as end result... .
