A couple of years ago I decided I wanted to make a few bits of my own kit, so I got a hand cranked Singer of evil-bay and make a few bits including a case for my arrows and an under blanket. However as time passed and seeing some of the things John Fenna has made I thought I’d give it a go, so a quick chat about what machine to get, I used some money from my birthday and got a Toyota Super Jeans machine. So far I’ve made a few bags, a dress for the baby, a jacket and tonight I’ve nearly finished a body warmer.

I was just wondering what, if anything do people make, or do people just buy from the shops / ex army stores?

To me, it speaks to insulation and cozy warmth near an evening camp fire.
It is never pleasant here after sunset. Never. I'd be really happy to wear what you're making.

I keep the dimensions of the tent of my dreams in ripstop nylon in my head. I can stand up.
Room for me to spread out. A great covering of absolute waterproof rain fly.

I like power tools of all kinds and all sizes. Except sewing machines, they make me shrivel.
I can find people to pay for sewing for me.
Carry on, please do.
