The best sundial I have ever seen was one in Spain. Two semi circular struts, one horizontal one vertical, set in a concave cross with a metal plate sheet suspended between the horizontal strut. The metal sheet had a slit in it. It could tell you the time AND the date! Ever heard of one ?
