Destruction test on stick tang

Decided to see if stick tangs can take abuse, so got an old knife out and hammer and began to hammer and batton away. I can safely say that stick tangs (even ones where the tang does not go all the way through) can take more than enough of a beating (when properly made)

It took 5 mins of constant hammering to get it to this stage

Interesting. I know it's not exactly a stick tang, but I once spent several days using my Swedish Army mora as a chisel/knife/chopper/drill etc. for woodwork. Several holes, mortices, dimensioned pieces of wood later it was absolutely fine. Was only using a piece of 2" square softwood as a mallet though.

Cool!!!! mine has had loads of hammer (Not literally) and has never shifted!
