Desk top magnifying glass

Hope you can help.

I am looking for a large desktop magnifying glass; with an adjustable stand, like.

I am pretty clueless in this. I don’t know if you could use same one to read with as, say, change a battery in an iPod or tie a fly. So, if anyone has got a recommendation, I’d be most obliged.

Can't remember where I got mine but it clamps onto the desk (upto about 40mm thick and could be bigger as I have a workbench I'd like to clamp it onto without the faff of clamping another bit of wood on my bench).
Its got USB powered LEDs and can emit various coloured light in various intensities. Harsh blue light, more yellow which seems closer to sunlight to me and so on.

There are loads of alternatives, from something very cheap and cheerful to things you'd want to arrange HP on.

I have a few, none of them perfect, but now that my eyesight is so poor there are jobs that I just couldn't do any more without one. Every now and then another job seems to call for a magnifier even though it never used to. Sometimes I get by just wearing two pairs of reading glasses.

You may find something like this preferable. I know a number of professional craft people who swear by them (not this particular model, but the concept). They have many advantages over a desk magnifier.
