Decorated tape?

I've recently got hold of a Swedish Army Snow Smock and, following the mods that have been suggested on Paul Kirtley's blog, am keen to alter it/demilitarise it. Does anyone know where I can get hold of some patterned cloth tape, preferably with a Scandinavian or North American native people's design on it?

As ever, any help or suggestions most gratefully received.

You could have a go at making your own. I got an Inkle loom and these are my first goes.

there are lots of drawings and plans on how to make your own and the plain bands are very simple.

Crochet pearl cotton is the simplest to keep even tension but I have made some very nice tape with sewing thread as well.

making your own was what came to mind to me too but I was thinking of cardweaving instead of the Inkle loom approach

Incompetent that I am, I don't think that I'm up to weaving my own - though it is a very pleasing idea. Mad Dave's suggestion to dial up 'Jacquard tape/ribbon yielded some results, most of which had a minimum purchase of 3,000 metres! In the end, I have found a 6 metre length to dolly up my Swedish Snow Smock, so many thanks to everyone for their advice.

I decorated my smock with some ribbon i found in a craft shop. It was a simple pattern but cheap and the spool was enough for one turn on the bottom of the smock and cuffs.

It was made by 'East of India Ribbons', a quick google came up with this store:
