Hi everybody, I am looking to get hold of a crooked knife (the same as Ray uses where he builds the Birch bark canoe).
Does anybody know where i could get one/have one made that won't cost a ridiculous amount of money?

thanks,

Andy

Depends what you see as ridiculous I guess.
Ben Orford makes very good ones as do Dorset Woodland Blades (FGYT on here), Nic Westermann maybe.
They won't be cheap but quality is high and worth paying for with knives I think.
Cheers , Simon

Try Ben Orford www.benorford.co.uk or .com, i have three of his Crooked knives and they all perform superbly, Dave Budd might be able to help you and he is only just up the road from you on Dartmoor, Dave is a member of this forum and has his own section in the trader forum, ive not used any of Dave's tools, but ive only ever heard good things about them

All of the above. I got a Ray Iles one off ebay though and I'm very pleased with it. Vastly superior to a Mora one. Very good value too. I did have to touch up the edge a little but nowhere near as much as with a Mora crook knife.
