I had a go at making a crooked awl, came out bigger than I anticipated but its quite comfortable in the hand

Comments, suggestions welcome.

My first thoughts were "woah" that is serious!! :-)
Great work Jon, know what you mean about the size though, if tip to tip it was just bigger than your hand I reckon that would be the perfect size, looks hard though!! did you harden it?

Cheers
hobo

Yeah the tips were quenched, not sure about the steel though, rebar is very unreliable as a steel when it comes to its carbon content and I am not convinced that it hardened too well. A known steel would be much more predicable. Somthing tells me this thing would be very good for making birch bark canoes and the like.
