Ello there,

I'm kinda new to this bushcraft thing and was recenltly given a weekends course as a gift from a friend with www.forestknights.co.uk
I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The instructors on the course (Wayne, Steve and Garick) were extremely helpful and patient with an absolute beginner like me. I even got flame with a “bow drill” after a few moments of sweating and grunting :)
I’m probably going to end up going back on another of their weekends, but I was just wondering if anyone else can recommend some good helpful people and courses, as I’m fairly sure that Wayne and co. will get fed up with me fairly quickly if I keep going back there :)
Anyway if any of you Forrest Knight people read this. Thanks once again for a great time. And I’ll be interested in what the rest of you have to say

Thanks

Welcome to BCUK Dan. Glad you enjoyed the Forest Knights course. Wayne really is the greenest Ninja in the woods isn't he.

As far as other courses go have a look at these reviews of some

http://www.bushcraftuk.com/content/articles.php?action=cat&acid=16

There is also a list of (almost) all of the Bushcraft schools out there

http://www.bushcraftuk.com/content/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=37

and an article here about picking the right Bushcraft school for you

http://www.bushcraftuk.com/content/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=82

Of course it depends on what type of course you're interested in as to which school to choose. Most cover the general bushcraft skills, while some are more specific - for instance Shadowhawk is a tracking school.

Another great place to learn and practice is the BCUK summer Moot which is at the end of July in South Wales. Mors Kochanski (the instructors' instructor) is one of the guest instructors

Have fun :)

cool!

Thanks all for the great response.

I’d be quite interested in the tracking side of bush craft and I’m sure gonna keep pestering you Wayne to get me back on one of your courses.

Thanks again
