couple spoons

Made these two recently. The dark one is mesquite. The light one is some mystery wood I found on a mountain.

I like the artful design on the lighter coloured spoon; how it that applied?

Thank you for the comments! Muddypaws, I carved in the design, then took some acrylic paint (permanent) and brushed it on then wiped it before it dried to give it the "washed" look. Dean, we have to do a trade sometime!

Really nice jobs - once again I find posts here that inspire me to get on with some more carving. The profile of the mystery wood is elegant and something I'll try to copy. Thanks for posting.
