Grebby, I got a few screwtop tins & made a mistake in the ordering, so ended up with some 3.5cm x 1.4cm. If you want one to make a stove for your espresso pot that you can carry filled (on a day's bimble for example) drop me a PM with an address & I'll send one out to you.

Shewie, a bit of the welder's mat, or some fibreglass roof insulation does fine for a wick (I use hte insulation with welder's mat on top - keeps it neater). You're welcome to a wee tin as well if you want to try one.

Shewie, Give it a go. I'd send you some felt but I'm running low as it is and you have had another offer. The pot stand took longer to make than the stove.

+1 on fibre glass loft insulation as a wick for alcohol stoves.

Just a thought, would a cut up fire blanket work or would the weave be too dense?
