This is my latest haul, haven't had a chance to take a decent pic but it's a peach.

Designed by Mr. Cooper
Blade by Mr. Wood
Scales by Mr. Mitchell

Only change i made from the original version was to have Alan extend the grind a little compared to the original.

Now Alan doesn't normally offer blades only but i tortured him until he agreed to make me this, it then sat on my bench for 2 years waiting for inspiration.
Stuart Mitchell had made me a set with green micarta and red liners which i really like and i thought would look right on this so i asked him to finish the knife for me.
Stu was at first a little reluctant to work on another makers blade but eventually i talked him round and I'm delighted with the way it turned out.
I also sent him my original knife and asked him to copy it as closely as possible as the original scale profiles are just about perfect.
One big aesthetic improvement IMO is the solid bolts look much better than the ones on the original.

I always loved my original knife but didn't use it because i favour micarta scales over wood so at last i have a British Blades bushcrafter that i will be happy to use.:)

I first met Alan Wood a few years ago at the Midland Game Fair.
He had a nice selection of his normal bushcraft style knives but the one knife that really caught my eye was a Nessmuk.
I had never used that style of knife before and thought his version would be as good an example as i was likely to find.

Now Alan doesn't normally offer blades only but i tortured him until he agreed to make me a couple and 6 months later i had a beautiful nessie blade blank.

This then sat on my bench for 2 years waiting for inspiration, it was only when i handled one of Stuart Mitchells knives with samber scales that i knew exactly what i wanted so i talked to Stu who was at first a little reluctant to work on another makers blade but eventually i talked him round and sent him the blade.

This arrived yesterday.

Haven't had a chance to take any decent pics yet but i have to say im blown away with the quality of the finished article.

Very nice nessie. My current favourite knife is a nessmuk. It's actually alot more practical for general campcraft than you might think, and the design shouldn't be relegated to "just a skinner" IMHO.

Thanks lads, the pics don't do them justice.

No plans to sell either Red but i will let you know if i ever do.
The nessie is flat ground with a convex edge and an absolute razor, the BB Bushcrafter is Alans usual scandi which is actually slightly hollow rather than flat.

Haven't had a chance to even think about leather for them or even try them out but im really looking forward to using the nessie.

the beauty is in the workmanship and materials, as it should be. The only thing that would put me off something like that is having to sharpen the curved edges - I'm rubbish at it!
